Since I’m now driving a slightly older car I’ve considered getting myself an OBD scanner. The Blue Driver is $99 and looks like it has the best reviews... but $99 is a lot for the hardware, and for something that’s not exactly essential.
However, the OBD Fusion app works with pretty much any Chinese knockoff OBD scanner.
Thoughts and opinions? I have a wonky TPS monitor that needs frequent resetting, plus I’d also just like to know what’s going on from time to time, mostly to monitor.

I just bought a cheap scanner, sure it may not have the fun gauges and stuff like the apps - but $10

I bought a $10 dollar scanner off amazon, cant remember the brand but its the one they post about on the FP sometimes and got the Torque app for $5. Done everything I needed it to do.

Yeah, general consensus is cheapo scanner, then spend the money on the apps. A lot of people say it's also worth spending the extra money on a scanner with Bluetooth — most are Wifi. FWIW, I once spent $250 on a VW scanner, but it had a lot of specialized software and support unique to the brand.
